The Penryn Partnership Creativity Collaborative set out to explore if the teaching of creativity across the curriculum lead to young people who are better prepared for their future in a changing workforce.
The Collaborative worked across the partnership to research, develop and test a range of teaching and learning strategies leading to systemic change in practice for teaching for creativity. The partnership inspired teaching and learning for a future curriculum and ensured the teaching and learning of creativity was cultivated across the school curriculum.
From 2021 – 2024, The Penryn Partnership Creativity Collaborative set out to:
Develop leaders, implementing change for the teaching of creativity, demonstrating a model for developing pedagogy across a partnership.
Increase staff capability in teaching for creativity.
Create a 'preparing for a creative future' framework, developing creative skills across the school curriculum.
Classroom resources to use and share
Penryn Partnership Creativity Collaborative Toolkit
The Penryn Partnership Creativity Collaborative's 'Better Prepared for a Creative Future Toolkit', is a space for school leaders, teachers, those working in cultural and industry organisations, researchers, and parents / carers, to find ideas about how to teach for creativity and develop young people’s creativity at and beyond school. It is a culmination of resources designed by teachers, leaders and researchers from the University of Exeter and is a living space we hope will grow over time.
Please click on the links below to access the three separate resource areas:
These resources were created to share our thoughts and provide ideas about how the Penryn creative skills manifest in a subject area. They have been written by teachers following a year of action research and learning in their classrooms.
Our planning tools are for teachers, practitioners and leaders, providing ideas that you might like to try in the classroom or workshop to develop teaching for creativity.
– Developing creativity across the curriculum
These resources are to help develop your understanding of teaching for creativity. We hope to encourage you to reflect and plan ahead for developing teaching for creativity in your own setting.
